Step-by-Step Installation Guide

  1. Download the Installer: Click the "Download Installer (.exe)" button above to directly retrieve PrintoraServer-Setup.exe.
  2. Windows SmartScreen Notice: If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen displays a warning for newly released binaries, click "More info" followed by "Run anyway".
  3. Grant Local Network Permissions: When prompted by Windows Defender Firewall, check "Private networks" and click "Allow access". This allows your mobile devices to discover the host over local Wi-Fi.
  4. Verify Installed Printers: The desktop dashboard will display all detected Windows printers with live status indicators (Ready, Printing, Paused, or Offline).
  5. Launch Mobile Printing: Open the Printora app on Android or scan the QR code displayed on your desktop screen with any iPhone or iPad camera to start printing immediately.
Troubleshooting Network & Spooler Detection

If your mobile app does not detect the PC automatically, verify that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi subnet (e.g. 192.168.1.x) and that your router does not enforce "AP Isolation" or "Client Isolation". If a printer shows "Offline", ensure the USB or network cable is firmly seated and run net stop spooler && net start spooler in an Administrator PowerShell window.

FAQ & Troubleshooting

Windows Server Setup FAQ

Common technical questions regarding ports, spooler access, and runtime dependencies.

Yes. Because Printora functions as a local print spool bridge directly connected to your printer hardware, your Windows PC must be powered on and connected to the local network or cellular tunnel. If the computer enters sleep or hibernation mode, the local print spooler will pause until the PC wakes.
